Ag Tech Digital Solutions Training Specialist – Hanoi, Vietnam
Tetra Tech International Development Services (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) headquartered in Arlington, VA is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Ag Tech Digital Solutions Training Specialist position on an anticipated donor-funded program Vietnam.
Position Description/Summary:
The Ag Tech Digital Solutions Training Specialist will provide training and user support for agricultural technology solutions as they are tested with agribusinesses and smallholder farmers in Vietnam. She/he will work with Tetra Tech teams in the United States and Vietnam to ensure effective testing and adoption of digital tools among target agricultural sector stakeholders. This is a short-term position with an expected duration of three to nine (3-9) months and an anticipated start date of March 2020. The Specialist will be based primarily in Hanoi but is expected to travel frequently to other regions within Vietnam.
Responsibilities:
- Support testing and adoption of mobile and web-based agricultural technology solutions among agribusinesses and smallholder farmers by designing and leading trainings, collecting feedback, and providing ongoing user support. These tasks will include travel to farms and other agricultural sites in Vietnam.
- Work closely with Tetra Tech and other international partners to define training needs, specific training modules, and effective follow up with project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences, business management, communications, computer science, economic development, or related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience supporting agricultural or economic development activities in Vietnam with digital solutions and tools, and/or training and capacity building.
- Experience implementing digital solutions for agriculture and experience training smallholder farmers or agribusinesses strongly preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication in Vietnamese required; ability to communicate effectively in English strongly preferred.
- Fluent Vietnamese and proficient English required.
- Ability to travel within Vietnam for up to several days with short notice required.
