Senior Specialist/Team Leader ; Deputy Chief of Party
Chemonics International Inc., a US-based international development consulting firm, is accepting applications from qualified professionals for the anticipated USAID-funded Vietnam Sustainable Forest Management project. The Sustainable Forest Management project will focus on reducing land-based emissions and increasing carbon sequestration in Vietnam's natural production forests and plantation production forests. Objectives of the project include: 1) Improve community forest management; 2) Increase conservation-friendly enterprises in forest-dependent communities; 3) Increase functionality of law enforcement systems for forest crimes; 4) Improve production forest management practices; and 5) Mobilize domestic resources for forest management and protection.
Chemonics seeks senior technical and management professionals for this upcoming project, including the following, with the necessary qualifications:
Senior Specialist/Team Leader (multiple positions)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Community forest management and co-management
- Land use planning, zonation, and land allocation and benefit sharing
- Forest monitoring and management
- Silviculture, plantation management, and sustainable timber certification
- Sustainable livelihoods
- Enterprise development and value chains, including timber, non-timber forest products, and other
- Environmental law enforcement
- Technology applications for forest management and enforcement
- Payment for environmental services (PES/PFES/C-PFES)
- REDD+
- Monitoring and evaluation
- Communications
- Activity and staff management
- Excellent communications
- Fluent English
Deputy Chief of Party
- Minimum 10 years experience and understanding in one or more of the above technical areas
- Minimum 5-7 years project and staff management experience
- Excellent organizational skills and written and verbal communications
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Fluent English
