Consultant: Country Coordinator for Vietnam
Background information: The Data for Health (D4H) Initiative is a multi-year initiative funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies in partnership with the Australian Government. Implementing partners include the US Centers for Disease Control, the CDC Foundation, Vital Strategies, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the University of Melbourne, and the World Health Organization (WHO). The D4H Initiative works with governments in more than 20 countries and cities to improve the collection and use of crucial public health information. D4H operates under the principles of country leadership and ownership, a commitment to capacity building, and a primary concern for sustainability.
The Initiative focuses on strengthening four areas:
Consultant Tasks: A consultant is required in the role of Country Coordinator to support the successful implementation of technical assistance for data use and population-based cancer registry improvement in Vietnam. The main tasks and deliverables of the Consultant will be related to ensuring that the implementation of data impact and cancer registry activities are country-owned and driven; technically sound and sustainable, as well as in line with current best practice standards. The Consultant will interface between government agencies, Initiative partners, and other critical stakeholders in the country.

General Responsibilities:The Country Coordinator will provide logistical, administrative, and budgeting support to the Data For Health program in coordination with and under the direct supervision of the Country Coordinator/Technical Implementation as well as reporting to the Vital Strategies collaboration lead. Under the guidance of a government manager and relevant D4H partners, the Consultant will be responsible for the following:
A. Logistical and operational support

B. Administrative, budgeting, and reporting

Management of Consultancy contract: Vital Strategies is the contracting entity. Day to day management of tasks and approval of deliverables will be via the Country Lead? as well as by the Vital Strategies Data for Health Directors and Deputies.

Position type: Full time/ Consultant
Contract Period: The Consultancy will begin as soon as possible through March 31, 2021, with the possibility of renewal.
Salary: Payments will be completed monthly in US Dollars upon submission of an invoice by the Consultant.
