Occupational Therapy Consultant recruitment

Length of position: Six to seven months
Location: Based in Binh Dinh province, Vietnam.
Start date: Tentatively starting from December 15 th , 2020.

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is a US non-governmental organization that has been operating in Vietnam for more than 20 years. CRS projects assist local counterparts to build capacity in the areas of Education, HIV/AIDS care and treatment, Disaster Risk Reduction and emergency preparedness and response.

With funding support from USAID and in collaboration with Institute of Population, Health and Development (PHAD), we are now conducting the project “The sustainable and interdisciplinary rehabilitation services for Persons with severe Disabilities in Binh Dinh and Quang Nam Province (Hold My Hand) project. The objective of the project is to build a sustainable model in Binh Dinh and Quang Nam to support rehabilitation service provision to meet the multi-faceted needs of persons with severe disabilities, especially gender-specific needs and vulnerabilities. One of strategy of the project is to build capacities for 16 professionals/service providers’ capacities to become therapists or therapy assistants in Occupational Therapy (OT) in the health system in Binh Dinh.

CRS is looking for a consultant to provide coaching on OT clinical practice for 16 health staffs (called OT practitioners hereafter) in daily working in their hospitals after completing the 12-month course, provisionally starting from Dec 15 th, 2020.

Scope of work:

• To provide OT clinical coaching to OT practitioners in Binh Dinh province in coordination with one existing OT trainer in 6 hospitals at provincial level in Quy Nhon, 6 district level Hospitals, and one provincial level hospital in Bong Son (13 hospitals in total).
• To support OT practitioners and rehabilitation specialist in setting up OT working condition atRehabilitation unit in their health facility.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor or master’s degree in occupational therapy.
• 3 years of working in clinical Occupational Therapy
• Strong preference is given to consultants with OT experience in pediatric and splinting
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships in a challenging multicultural environment.

Compensation:

• Consultants/experts will be provided with travel cost from home country to Vietnam.
• Consultants will be provided with accommodation in Binh Dinh; negotiable remuneration, travel allowance for field working days; interpretation and translation during the working duration.
