Membership Development Officer at Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD)

1. General Information

Membership Development Officer is a member of VBCSD Secretariat located at the Office for Business Sustainable Development (SD4B), under Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) was established by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the approval of the Government on 8th September 2010. VBCSD is a business-led organization with the mandate to promote the business community’s active role in and strong advocacy for the implementation of the Strategic Orientation for Sustainable Development in Vietnam. VBCSD facilitates and promotes the sharing of experience, solutions and good practices on sustainable development, and strengthens dialogues and close coordination among business community, the Government and civil organizations on this domain.

2. Job description

• Be mainly in charge of developing and recruiting new members for VBCSD, along with taking care of our current members, including but not limited in the following tasks:
• Consulting the VBCSD’s Standing Committee and proposing strategies on membership development and recruitment and membership care programme;
• Actively approaching companies and organizations that have high commitment to sustainability and have development strategies in line with VBCSD’s philosophy;
• Keeping in close touch with our current members to get understand of their needs and demand, reporting to VBCSD’s Secretary General to get appropriate directions and working with other members of the Secretariat to timely support members;
• Coordinating with other internal groups of the VBCSD Secretariat to organize Member Meeting Event periodically;
• Carrying out other tasks as requested by VBCSD Secretary General.

3. Required experiences and qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in business/customer development
• Proven records in business/customer development
• English proficiency, minimum IELTS 6.5 or foreign university degree will be an advantage
• Responsible, self-confident and active in work
• Good communication, presentation and negotiation skills are required
