TERMS OF REFERENCE
CONSULTANT(S) TO DELIVER LEADERSHIP TRAINING COURSES
I. BACKGROUND
KOTO stands for Know One, Teach One - learning should be passed on; knowledge is meant to be shared.
In 1999, the first hospitality training centre was opened in Hanoi, giving at-risk and disadvantaged youth the opportunity to break the poverty cycle by forging a better future for themselves, their families and their communities. ?
Twenty years later, our almost 1, 000 graduates now include executive and sous chefs, hotel and resort general managers, business owners as well as university graduates. All are contributing to their families and society.
KOTO continues to be acknowledged as a leading unique not-for-profit social enterprise, not only in Vietnam but also internationally. Today, KOTO provides 200 at-risk and disadvantaged youth in Vietnam an opportunity to undertake our 24-month holistic hospitality training program to end the cycle of poverty and truly empower our trainees to realise their dreams.
EMpower is the Emerging Markets Foundation partnering with local organisation in emerging market countries, and other change – makers, to enable marginalized young people to transform their lives and communities. Sharing vision and mission, Empower supports KOTO to build capacity for leaders, therefore enhance the sustainable development of the company in the market.
II. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF WORK
The Consultant/ Consultants are expected to implement Activity 2 - Training and leadership development for Heads of Department. The Consultant/ Consultants will deliver 5(five) training courses for KOTO leadership team with high quality and innovative contents.
It is acceptable that the Consultant/ Consultants select to deliver courses that they are more specialized in. (See list in IV- DELIVERABLES)
The courses are recommended to be tailor made to KOTO environment and operation model.
The standard length of each course is expected to be within 8 hours. However, depending on the importance of the content, the course can be designed with less or more time.
