“Development of Vietnam’s Long-term energy transition targets”

As a federal enterprise, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. On behalf of the German Government, GIZ currently provides advisory services to the Government of Viet Nam in three priority areas: (1) Vocational training, (2) Environmental policy and sustainable use of natural resources, and (3) Energy. The project “Clean Affordable and Secure Energy for South East Asia (CASE)” implemented by GIZ is looking for a group of local consultants to conduct a study “Development of Vietnam’s Long-term energy transition targets”.

Therefore, GIZ Hanoi Office is conducting a public tender to seek qualified Individual local Consultant (here after called as LC) to carry related tasks as below:

1. Timeframe of the assignment: tentatively commence from 14^th February 2022 until 14^th July 2022
2. Place of Assignment: Hanoi
3. Estimated Man-days and requirements:

The below specified qualifications represent the requirements to reach the maximum points

1	Energy/Power Sector Modelling Expert (EPE)	65	Master’s degree in energy/power system or similar, 20 years of relevant full-time work experience and not below 15 years of experience in energy and power system or similar. Proven extensive knowledge of the power system modelling as well as political landscape of Vietnam energy/power sector through the experience in leading and participating in related projects/researches/publications. Having in-dept knowledge of both in global and local trends of energy/power sector development through the experience in leading and participating in related researches/publications/projects. Demonstrable ability of analytical and drafting work, etc. Excellent analytical, teamwork and facilitation skills. Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks. Proficiency in both Vietnamese and English language.

4. Requirements:

• The local individual consultants will be contracted to work in a team consist of 06 local consultants who are experts in other related fields such as economics, energy, land use and natural resource management to conduct the study Development of Vietnam’s Long-term energy transition targets.
• He/she is expected to have extensive experience, expertise and hold proven knowledge in relevant sectors.
