All around the world, people are waking up to the deepening crisis of nature loss. A growing realization that nature is our life-support system. And that nobody will be spared from the impacts of its loss. Here at WWF, we are helping to tackle this enormous global challenge.
Our people come from hugely diverse backgrounds and with a variety of expertise, ranging from HR and Finance to Advocacy and Conservation science. We welcome applications from anyone who believes they can help us create a better future for people and wildlife.
What we do
We are an independent conservation organization, striving to sustain the natural world for the benefit of people and wildlife. From individuals and communities to business and government, we are part of a growing coalition calling on world leaders to set nature on the path to recovery by 2030. Together, we seek to protect and restore natural habitats, stop the mass extinction of wildlife, and make the way we produce and consume sustainably.
We are looking for committed, result-driven candidate for the position of Development Manager, Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD) & Resilient Asian Deltas, based in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, is preferred, with a mix of home and office working. Ha Noi is possible. Other locations may be considered in exceptional circumstances. Relocation is not offered for this position.
Major Functions:
WWF’s Resilient Asian Deltas initiative includes the development of a pipeline of ‘bankable’ water projects involving the private sector. These projects need to combine more effective and sustainable business activities with sustainable use, restoration or maintenance of the surrounding environment to ensure long term climate resilience for people and nature. This position will rapidly identify and develop viable bankable projects for inclusion in the DFCD project pipeline.
The position requires a good understanding of the interface between the private sector and the natural environment, an ability to rapidly assess and priorities opportunities using a variety of tools, and the persistence to push them into and through the DFCD pipeline to pilot phase implementation and beyond. A good understanding of the types of financial instruments used to support business growth, including loans, equity, bonds and grants, is essential.
