EpiC
The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a five-year, global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). EpiC Vietnam’s goal is to deliver efficient, affordable, results-based technical assistance and direct services while closing remaining gaps in Vietnam’s efforts to meet HIV epidemic control targets and address the global COVID-19 pandemic. EpiC also works to combat trafficking in persons and support the COVID response in Vietnam. In the past year, the FHI 360 EpiC project team has gone through several changes including a restructure and change in staffing in preparation for new strategic directions. The team includes several mid-level technical managers and supervisors, some of whom are relatively new to a leadership role.
We are seeking a qualified individual/firm to design and facilitate a one- or two-day master class focusing primarily on organizational and management skills for supervisors and technical leads.
Scope of Work
The qualified individual/firm is expected to design and facilitate a package to strengthen technical leads and supervisors’ abilities to manage reports and effectively prioritize and implement their workflows as a team. The proposed plan should include team and individual capacity building to strengthen the following types of skills* (to be determined collaboratively with the participating staff):
*These skills are based on Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. They can be modified according to the consultant/firm’s experience, and the preferences of the EpiC team.
EpiC seeks a consultant that can help each individual build on their strengths, understand how their strengths and weaknesses support the team, and develop strategies for greater team unity, communication, and collaboration. EpiC envisions the consultant/firm will first seek inputs from the individual team members in advance of the one- or two-day training, design the specific content, implement the training, and then follow up individually with each team member to determine if there are any remaining questions or guidance that can be provided (e.g., a 30-minute coaching session).
The training, if determined to be two days, could be separated by at least one or two weeks, to allow staff time to absorb and reflect on the concepts. Applicants are welcome to provide ideas on how to maximize the longevity of the concepts learned.
The current EpiC technical lead team consists of 10 individuals including the Project Director, with one member in Ho Chi Minh City, and the remainder in Hanoi.
Duration
The contract is expected to start from 25 March 2022 until the work proposed by the contractor is completed.
