I. BACKGROUND
The Centre for Supporting Green Development (GreenHub) is a Vietnamese, civil society organization under the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (Vusta) with oversight by the Ministry of Science & Technology, and with an CSO Registration Number A-1555. GreenHub’s Vision is the green development of Vietnam, and its mission is to connect communities and resources to embrace green lifestyle practices, sustainable production and nature conservation.
The “Local Solutions for Plastic Pollution” (LSPP) funded by the USAID addresses the challenges faced by local communities in overcoming the negative environmental health impacts caused by plastics pollution which is increasing in Vietnam. The ‘Local Solutions for Plastic Pollution’ project activities aim to empower local communities to reduce plastics pollution by building collective action from the ground up by creating, strengthening and uniting networks, communities and individuals in Hanoi, Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Da Nang, and Hoi An (Quang Nam). The project duration is August 2020 - July 2023 and implemented by GreenHub, the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), Hanoi University of Public Health, and Global Integrated Management System Company Limited (GIMASYS).
With the goal of establishing plastic waste reduction models and supporting primary schools in Cam Le district, Da Nang city has achieved Green school standards pursuant to Da Nang People's Committee regulation No. 9083/Q?-UBND dated December 17, 2014. GreenHub is Looking for initiatives and organization to implement the school model through the following tasks:
II. JOB DESCRIPTION
2.1 RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a plan to develop eco-friendly, plastic-reduced school models in line with actuality and Green school standards according to Da Nang People's Committee regulations.
- Implement planned steps and evaluate plastic-reduced models at 03 primary schools in Cam Le district. Include at least the following main tasks:
- Waste audit at school
- Making a set of solutions to reduce waste and plastic for schools based on the audit report
- Execute specific activities for the eco-friendly, plastic-reduced school models
- Support schools to found environmental groups/clubs to maintain the eco-friendly, plastic-reduced activities at school
- Assess the level of plastic reduction and report the experience.
2.2 REQUIREMENTS
- Organization consultant with at least a Bachelor's degree in environment, development, social science, education or related fields. Organizational consulting and having a Master's degree or higher are preferable.
- At least 5 years of working experience in environment, development or related fields.
- Experienced in consulting and building eco-friendly, plastic-reduce school models.
- Having working experience and good connection skills with state agencies and NGOs.
- Deep passion for sustainability and the environment.
Other personal qualities:
- Enthusiastic, honest and trustworthy
- Proactive and excellent time management
- Ability to work adaptively and flexibly
- Good team working and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Proficient computer skills
III. APPLICATION
- Application documents (in English or Vietnamese) includes:
- Documentation of experience implementing similar models and relevant documents
- Proposedconsulting plan and method from April 4, 2022 to December 1, 2022 (see annex)
- Estimated costs for consulting activities. The maximum budget available is 250 million VND.
- List of participants in the project and committed to available to participate in the project according to the proposed implementation plan.
