Scope of Work
For a Consultant to support IDEAL project in Vietnam
I. Background
PATH is an international, non-profit organization that creates sustainable, culturally relevant solutions that enable communities worldwide to break longstanding cycles of poor health. By collaborating with diverse public- and private-sector partners, we help provide appropriate health technologies and vital strategies that change the way people think and act. Our work improves global health and well-being.
In 2012, PATH, in collaboration with the National Expanded Program on Immunization (“NEPI”), initially developed and piloted the immunization registry software program, called ImmReg, in one district of Ben Tre province. In 2014 and 2015, PATH integrated the ImmReg with the system that was scaled up nationwide, called the vaccine tracking system, into one comprehensive system for NEPI and then scaled up the entire Ben Tre province with 164 communes and 9 districts. In the period of 2016-2018, PATH continued supporting GDPM to transfer all functions of immunization registry and vaccine tracking to the national immunization information system (NIIS) and scale up nationwide through Health Innovation Award from the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Save the Children partnership. Following the success of the implementation in Vietnam, late 2018, Bill Melinda Gates Foundation awarded PATH to support Vietnam government for the transition to paperless as well exchange and share lessons learnt in Vietnam with other countries.
