About YSEALI Academy
Launched in 2013, the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is U.S. government’s signature program to strengthen leadership development and networking in Southeast Asia. YSEALI seeks to build the leadership capabilities of youth in the region, strengthen ties between the United States and SEA, and nurture an ASEAN community. YSEALI is partnering with Fulbright University Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City to launch the YSEALI Academy at Fulbright.
The YSEALI Academy at Fulbright will offer executive-level seminars for entry to mid-level professionals around the themes of technology and innovation, public policy, and entrepreneurship. Participation will be open to applicants from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. YSEALI Academy at Fulbright aims to deliver 16-20 high-quality seminars in the next five years to rising leaders (“Fellows”) across Southeast Asia. These seminars will address regional challenges from regional perspectives, feature leading regional and US-based experts in industry and academia, and involve individual and group-based, experiential learning activities designed to create lasting professional relationships between Fellows of different nationalities and foster skills which can be applied in Fellows’ careers.
The opportunity
Fulbright University Vietnam seeks applications for one faculty position in the YSEALI Academy. Preference will be given to applicants in the field of entrepreneurship.
Reporting Lines
Reports operationally to: YSEALI Academy Director
List by title positions which report directly to this position: N/A
25% Undergraduate Faculty
- Work with the core teaching team to develop and teach one session of a core course (of ~60 students), or the equivalent
75% YSEALI workload
- Lead (take charge of) the seminar.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop the seminar curriculum.
- Assist YSEALI Director and Program Manager in other external tasks of the YSEALI Academy (DoS, HKS, etc.) and collaborate with internal teams, including FSPPM, UG, Finance, HR, Grant Management, Communication, IT, etc. to support YSEALI Academy.
- Join the selection committee for Fellow recruitment.
- Invite guest speakers (academic scholars and industry guests) for the seminar.
- Facilitate or teach (if required) seminar sessions.
- Facilitate online learning.
- Facilitate experiential learning, including company and institution visits, cultural immersion and excursions, and other activities of the seminar.
- Build a YSEALI Academy Alumni network.
- Research with YSEALI affiliation (journal publications, industry white papers, policy briefs, etc.).
Other duties
- Contributing to team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to enhance the services of the department; helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed.
- Other tasks and responsibilities assigned to the Employee by the Company which may be adjusted from time to time.

Qualifications
- Education: A PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) in business and management (operations, decision science, business strategy), engineering and computer science (AI, machine learning, data analytics, fintech, cybersecurity) with an entrepreneurial mindset is required.
- Employment/Professional Experience:
- Relevant teaching and research experience in technopreneurship, technology and innovation are desired.
- Experience or interest in Vietnam and Southeast Asia will also be appreciated.
- Vietnamese language skills are valuable, but not required.
