Samaritan’s Purse is a Christian humanitarian organization providing aid to hurting people around the world. With a sustainable history working in Vietnam, Samaritan’s Purse has developed strong relationships with partners to conduct projects in 6 sectors: health, WASH, education, protection, livelihood and relief.

Samaritan’s Purse in Vietnam’s projects are being implemented in Hanoi, Quang Nam, the central province of Vietnam, Tra Vinh, the south of Vietnam and across the northern provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Lai Chau where the majority of people are from ethnic minority groups, often the most vulnerable or marginalized sections of the population.

We are now seeking highly qualified candidate for the following position:

Position Title:                   Information (Communication) Officer     

Grade:                              Junior Program

Position Duration:            01 Year with possibility of extension

Duty Station:                    Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, with travels to project sites

Reports To:                      Country Director

Job Summary:

This position is responsible to communicate the effectiveness of Samaritan's Purse programs and build donors confidence through digital and printed media. S/he will work under the direction of the Country Director to generate content, ensure effective content collection, manage communication assets, and coordinate communications efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content creation:
  
  • Create digital and print materials to highlight program results, including impact stories, beneficiary photos, and community interviews.
  • Draft informational documents, such as briefing reports, brochures, and presentations.
• Content collection:
  
  • Collect, review, and edit communication material (stories, videos, and photos) developed by other teams.
  • Promote ethical practices for content collection from the communities and beneficiaries.
• Asset management:
  
  • Organize and update the office’s digital archives of contents and files on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor, maintain, and organize communications equipment and tools.
  • Monitor public media coverage of Samaritan’s Purse in Vietnam and report quarterly.
• Communications coordination:
  
  • Coordinate within Samaritan's Purse to provide resources.
  • Assist with donor engagement activities and trips.
  • Assist and contribute to brainstorming sessions and project concept development.

Education/Experience Needed:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, development, or related field.
• 1 to 3 years of work experience in marketing, journalism, communications or related field.
• Experience working in international organizations, social development, or cross-cultural communication preferred.

Skills Required:

• Fluency in English and Vietnamese-written and spoken.
• Proficient with industry standard creative software and tools.
• A humble team player with integrity.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.
• Strong passion to help others, possess creative and communication skills, and be willing to learn.

Samaritan's Purse in Vietnamis a Christian nonprofit organization. Candidates having working experience in a similar kind of organization will be an advantage.
