Senior Engagement Officer

The Embassy of Australia in Hanoi is looking for a talented and energetic individual to fulfil the position of LE4 Senior Engagement Officer.

Working for the Department of Home Affairs (HA), the Senior Engagement Officer assists the Home Affairs Counsellor and Engagement Manager to liaise with key Vietnamese interlocutors and other partners around the region to progress Home Affairs interests in Vietnam, and coordinate training and capacity building projects. The officer also assists with the management of returns and removals programs under existing arrangements between Australia and Vietnam; and performs other ad hoc tasks as directed.

Applicants should have fluency in written and spoken English and Vietnamese, proficiency in computer software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, understanding of local government structures and legal systems and prior experience working with government agencies. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

The successful applicant will be offered an initial contract for a 12- month period, with the possibility of a further contract. The full-time monthly gross salary ranges from VND34,562,174 to VND38,900,031.

Employment will be subject to satisfactory medical and police/security checks. The actual start date will be confirmed following the outcome of the police checks.
