Save the Children is seeking for an individual consultancy to develop guideline and training for child-led clubs in Lao Cai province.

1. Objectives:

• summarizing and compiling guiding documentations to reinforce and operate the child-led clubs.
• training the core teachers and program staff in Lao Cai on the compiled materials and models mentioned above.

2. Scope of works:

• Conduct surveys on some program schools in Lao Cai regarding the following essential inputs: (i) Current situation of establishing and operating the child-led clubs (criteria for selecting participating students, operators, frequencey and means of organizing for the groups, communication topics that the groups are undertaking, groups' capacity to generate and implement new communicating innovations with the support from the program and core teachers)
• Monitor the current documents (both in Vietnamese and English) produced by SC about the method of establishing and operating the core child groups, documents of improving child participance, and community activities. SC has the responsibility to provide the relevant documents.
• On the basis of data collected from field monitoring and available documents, the consultant will summarize and compile a complete guiding documentation for establishing and operating the child-led clubs so that the documentation can be applied to the program middle schools. Some key points to note:
  
  • Child-led clubs will operate on the basis of modeling principles involving the core child group
  • Child-led clubs will be established based on the available groups/teams within the school clubs and activities.
  • Based on the training documents for the child-led clubs, the trainers can guide the club members to gain multiple skills in
  1. problem-solving, target-identifying, and planning to organize communication ideas
  2. communicating regarding behavioral variations and writing
  3. listening, observing, constructive criticism, teamwork, communication (from the documentation that helps establish and operate the child-led clubs)
• Organize 01 training course for the teachers and educational management officers regarding the following
  
  • 01 presentation on training the teachers and educational management officers that manage the child-led clubs.
  • Pre and post evaluation on the requests and capacities of the participants in the training course
• Write a report on the training course including recommendations for the field programs (the next steps to build and improve the capacity of the core child group)
