Consultancy Services to Produce a virtual factory visit video (360 videos)
Duration: September – November 2022
1. Background
Better Work is an innovative partnership program between the International Labour Organizations and the International Finance Corporation. It aims to improve labour standards and competitiveness in global supply chains. Better Work involves the development of both global tools and country level programs. The focus is in on scalable and sustainable solutions which build cooperation between government, employers and workers’ organizations, and international brands.
In Vietnam, Better Work covers the garment and footwear industries. The programme follows an integrated approach which includes assessment, advisory, and training services at factory level, with industry seminars to promote cross-industry sharing and learning culture. We work with different stakeholders such as MOLISA, VGCL, VCCI, international and local brands, vendors, factories and trade associations, and other relevant organizations that work with the apparel and footwear sectors.
In the garment and textile industry, although women represent around 80 per cent of the workforce in the garment sector worldwide, they are concentrated in the lowest-paying, lowest-skilled occupations. Gender-based discrimination during recruitment processes and sexual harassment in the workplace remain widespread. In the past 12 years working in Vietnam, Better Work has provided continued support to the factories and workers participating in the programme through a numerous activities and initiatives with the aim to unite partners from the public and private sector to scale up what has proven to work to empower women, increase productivity and improve the lives of workers and their family members.
Factory engagement is at the core of Better Work’s activities. To visually capture what garment sector factory actually looks like and is structured, Better Work Vietnam seeks a consultant/company to produce 360 or 3D video of a factory visit. The expected video duration is 5 minutes maximum.
The factory visit would be led by a local worker and produced in Vietnamese with English subtitles.
The video is expected to be widely used to introduce Better Work’s factory engagement at private and public events in Vietnam and globally.
