1. Background
ClimateLaunchpad (CLP) is the Global Green Business Ideas Competition which is run and administered by EIT Climate-KIC Holding B.V., an association duly incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands. EIT Climate-KIC Partner - The ‘Delft University of Technology’ support the majority of Global CLP
CLP’s mission is to unlock the world’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change. The competition creates a stage for those ideas.
With this competition, CLP determines to address the negative impacts of climate change through innovation and invention.Your idea can be an innovation in renewable energy, a sustainable transition in the food chain, a mind shift in urban mobility or any other way to tackle climate change. As long as it’s in the cleantech domain: “a scientific innovation that uses existing technology to do more with fewer resources, and has a commercial driver”.
Started in the Netherlands in 2014, CLP has so far reached 55+ countries, with encouraging success. CLP Vietnam was organized in Vietnam for the first time in 2019. In the last 5 years, CLP in Vietnam has been successfully attracting and providing consultancy services for nearly 100 start-ups. CLP is comprised of a Boot Camp series, Boot Camp follow-up coaching sessions, the National Final, in which the Top-3 teams are selected to participate in the Regional Final, and customized coaching sessions for the National Finalists.
In Vietnam, CLP is co-organized by the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Center for Creativity and Sustainability Study and Consultancy.
Center for Creativity and Sustainability Study and Consultancy (CCS) is the national lead of the CLP in Vietnam. CCSisascience and technology organization, specializing in localizing the practical technologies and solutions for SMEs and communities in the field of renewable energy, sustainable agriculture and product innovation.
The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) is a political foundation with its headquarters in Munich (Germany). “In the service of democracy, peace and development” – this motto is present in the work and mission of the Hanns Seidel Foundation. Since 1995, HSF has supported the integration of Vietnam into the global political spectrum and the ASEAN-Community. Since the establishment of a representative office in 2011, HSF has focused its work in Vietnam on social and environmental policies for sustainable development. HSF has been providing CCS with financial and technical support to organize CLP Vietnam since 2020.
The recruitment process for green ideas will take place from March to June. The founders of the green business ideas will be joining inthe 2023three-day Boot Camp, which will be held in early July. After Boot Camp, it is expected that the teamswill be trained in more detailed on the CLP workbook modules and other necessary aspects, so that they can perform to their best in the National Final competition. Top 3 winners of National Final will compete in the next round (Regional Final).
2. Objectives
The National Mentor shall provide CLP competing teams with consultancy services and coaching sessionsfocusing on business model and product development.
