PATH is currently recruiting for a Senior Capacity Building Coordinator, based in Hanoi, to lead capacity building activities for social enterprises, private clinics and other private sector groups in the HIV/health sector. This position will report to PATH’s Deputy Chief of Party for the USAID/PATH STEPS Project, a five-year initiative that aims to increase market growth for private sector HIV goods and services. One key component of the STEPS Project is around increasing the operational and financial sustainability of social enterprise and private sector service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within PATH/ STEPS teams to develop, implement and periodically update overall vision, approach, and key activities toward achieving project capacity-building objectives, and identify/track key measures of success.
  • Lead and coordinate the development of technical assistance plans targeting key areas of organizational capacity (e.g., health services, business development, marketing and communications, financial and operational management) to support the sustainable growth and development of partner social enterprises and other private-sector groups.
  • Design and implement periodic assessments to inform priority areas for capacity-building and ongoing program adaptation and quality improvement.
  • Work with colleagues across multiple workstreams (e.g., health services, monitoring & evaluation, policy, and learning/knowledge management) to align on capacity-building activities and goals.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship to support partners in developing strategic annual plans for marketing & communications, financial growth, and more.
  • Offer hands-on support and mentoring to partners to seek investment and incubation through grants, accelerators, angel, and social impact investors, including support with proposal writing.
  • Lead and coordinate trainings, meetings, forums, workshops, learning exchange sessions, and/or events related to marketing and capacity building.
  • Develop standardized and pragmatic tools to assist partners in targeting business and financial planning.
  • Conduct periodic mapping and landscaping of promising incubation and investment opportunities in Vietnam, and formulate plans to support partners in capturing these opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Glink Academy (a leading peer incubation and learning partner) to design and implement high-impact capacity strengthening approaches and activities.
  • Closely coordinate, as required, with government, national and international stakeholders and partners.
  • Provide periodic updates to programs leadership and teams on progress with respect to the work assigned.
  • Any other work as discussed and agreed upon with supervisor.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience and demonstrated skills in project design and management, community capacity-building, and team management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, social entrepreneurship, public health or other relevant fields; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Working experiences in business, international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) or in public health programs would be an advantage but not a must.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills, capacity to understand situations and project scenario and translate effectively into deliverables and collaterals for stakeholders and partners.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details, with good follow-through capabilities.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently and in a team.
  • Excellent written and spoken Vietnamese and English.
  • Willing and able to travel within Vietnam (around 15% of the time).

Must have legal authorization to work in Vietnam.
