1. CONTEXT

The Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), in partnership with the Asia-Europe Environment Forum (ENVforum), is searching for a candidate to fill the position of a Communication Consultant to coordinate and implement post-event communication tasks following the successful organisation of the virtual Asia-Europe Environment Forum’s Annual Conference Spin Off Event in Korea.

Established in 2003, the Asia-Europe Environment Forum (ENVforum) is a partnership of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Centre (ASEIC), the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and the Government of Sweden through the Strategic Collaborative Fund administered by Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI).

The ENVforum aims to foster inter-regional cooperation between Asia and Europe on sustainable development and its environmental dimensions and contribute to the formulation of sound decisions across all sectors that are mindful of their environmental, social and economic impacts and of the future generations.

The Communication Consultant will be contracted by the Hanns Seidel Foundation and will work under the joint supervision of HSF and the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF).

2. OBJECTIVES

Through this ToR, ONE Communications Consultant is to be identified to assist the ENVforum project activities in 2023:

• Design and plan an outreach strategy for the ENVforum.
• Implement the communication activities ensuring the increased outreach outcomes e.g., social media, dissemination of documents/videos and newsletter- and evaluate and adapt as required.
• Execute strategy/planning mentioned above to maintain the ENVforum and its activities visible.

3. SCOPE OF WORK AND PROPOSED LEVEL OF EFFORT

	Align ENVforum’s outreach strategy with ASEF’s Executive Decision no. 12/2022 on ‘ASEF Social Media Policy’ and make sure to abide by the directives contained therein	1
Execution of the outreach strategy and monitoring (August – November 2023)	Take a lead role in managing ENVforum’s social media channels[2]	10
	Provide basic designs and visual identity to support the communication strategy	5
	Disseminate the ENVforum’s reports, policy briefs, website information, newsletters, articles, brochures and publications for greater outreach	3
	Support pre-, during and post-event communication for the ENVforum’s scheduled events in 2023	8
	Track the progress and monitor the development of the outreach strategy from time to time and producing reports (including social media, website, etc.)	5
	Develop and maintain the ENVforum’s external communication on regular basis (including database management).	5

4. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience as communications specialist
• Experience in copywriting, editing, and video production
• Experience in using Hootsuite, Wordpress and MailChimp is a plus
• Knowledge of sustainable development and climate change
• Proficient command of English
• Previous engagement in the ENVforum activities in general and in communications/PR activities of the ENVforum in particular is a plus.
