Animals Asia is an international NGO devoted to ending bear bile farming and improving the welfare of animals in Asia. In Vietnam, Animals Asia is also working to end the trade in dogs for human consumption, a trade that represents both a risk to human health by facilitating the transmission of rabies and eroding efforts to eliminate this disease in the country.

Position: EDMT Coordinator
Location: Hanoi
Type: Full time.
Term: Three years, including the initial 2-month probationary period
Salary: $850-1120 USD gross per month + benefits

Position Description:

The position supports the implementation of a campaign to end the dog meat trade and to ensure the effective management and delivery of all campaign activities in Vietnam. The position will require extensive travel within the country.

Requirements:

• A university Degree in relevant areas
• At least 5 years’ experience working for environmental, conservation, or animal welfare organisations.
• Demonstrated experience in working with central and local authorities, especially in remote areas, and have a good understanding of how the legal system works in Vietnam.
• Experience or having a good understanding of the investigation process includes planning, evidence gathering, and interpretation of results.
• Experience in developing and implementing campaigns to change public attitudes in the environmental sector.
• Ability to communicate in the English language is essential.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and an aptitude for problem solving.
• Self-initiative and ability to work closely with a team of diverse backgrounds.
