DGRV – the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation is the national apex organization and top-level auditing confederation of the cooperative sector in Germany. Since more than 30 years, DGRV is involved in international development cooperation aiming on the sustainable development of the cooperative sector worldwide.

In Vietnam, DGRV supports the transformation and development of the cooperative sector by providing cooperative expertise, long and short-term consultancy, as well as tailor-made solutions for international development projects. As centre of competence in cooperative development, DGRV operates on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Vietnamese partners of DGRV are Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development (MARD), Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA), selected provincial cooperative alliance (PCAs).

For our project in Vietnam and other South-East-Asia-countries, we are looking for a Project Advisor in financial topics. The job is firstly restricted till the end of 2026 and is available immediately. In case of prolongation of the project towards the next years, a possibility to get a long-term working contract exists.

Job Description Project Advisor (Finance team)

The required skills and experience as well as the tasks and responsibilities of a project assistant supporting the project management in the field of finance topics are described as the following:

Required skills and experience

• Bachelor degree with experience working in credit and audit topics (preferred in banking sector)
• At least 5 years working experience
• Experience in accounting, auditing and/or micro-finance is a plus
• Advanced written and verbal communication in English
• Excellent presentation skills
• Experience in facilitation of training
• Willingness to travel on short notice (the position requires frequent travel to provinces in different part of Vietnam and occasionally abroad)
• Ability to use German would be a plus

Tasks and Responsibilities

The tasks and responsibilities of the project advisor in finance theme are described as the followings. He/she shall provide assistance to the project management in:

• Conducting in-depth, on-site consultancy in accounting, auditing and financial management with PCA staff for cooperatives, people’s credit funds
• Preparing, arranging and interpreting of meetings, consultations, seminars and trainings with project partners and target groups
• Assistance or conduction of trainings, workshops in the assigned field
• Providing support in the development of monitoring tools on project activities
• Designing survey and conducting research work
• Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data upon request
• Developing training documents for DGRV needs
• Proceeding business trips within Vietnam and other South-East-Asia countries upon request
• Project management related tasks like coordinating on activity planning and implementation, budget management..
• Other tasks assigned according to managers
