DGRV – the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation is the national apex organization and top-level auditing confederation of the cooperative sector in Germany. Since more than 30 years, DGRV is involved in international development cooperation aiming on the sustainable development of the cooperative sector worldwide.

In Vietnam, DGRV supports the transformation and development of the cooperative sector by providing cooperative expertise, long and short-term consultancy, as well as tailor-made solutions for international development projects. As centre of competence in cooperative development, DGRV operates on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Main vietnamese partners of DGRV are Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development (MARD), Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA), selected provincial cooperative alliance (PCAs).

For our project in Vietnam and other South-East-Asia-countries, we are looking for a Project Advisor for our Business development team at our office in Hanoi. The job is firstly timely restricted till the end of 2026 and is available from April 2024. In case of prolongation of the project towards the next years, a possibility to get a long-term working contract exists.

Job Description Project Advisor in Business development team

The main purpose of the position is to provide consultancy and trainings to project partners, cooperatives and farmer groups who want to establish and strengthen their cooperative or the sector in their related responsibilities. The overall objective is to support the sustainable development of cooperative in their operation.

Thus, as a Project Advisor in Business development team, your tasks are:

• Conduct trainings and workshops in related topics
• Develop target group-oriented training and workshop materials
• Provide direct consultancy to target groups
• Design and organize round table meetings for stakeholders/partners in charge
• Design survey and conducting research work upon request
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and develop documentations for DGRV needs
• Provide translation to project management when necessary
• Proceed business trips
• Conduct project management-related tasks and  monitoring activities in order to analyze project development
• Other tasks assigned according to management

Essential skills required:

• Bachelor degree with 5 years of work experience, preferential in agri-business (preferred in private sector) or demonstrated success supporting entrepreneurial business management. Master degree would be advantageous.
• Experiences in implementing field work preferably related to small and medium business development.
• Experiences in training or consulting.
• Experiences on value chain development for agri-products
• Advanced written and verbal communication in English and Vietnamese
• Excellent presentation skills.

Desirable skills required:

• Able to work independently, flexibly and responsively
• Able to adapt to changing working conditions
• Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc.)
• Willingness to travel on short notice (The position requires frequent travel to provinces in the north, central and the south of Vietnam)
• Experienced in international development projects

Addition knowledge in the following field are a plus:

• Experience with national and international quality standards such as Viet-GAP and Global-GAP would be a plus
• Experience with national and international certification schemes.
• Understandings on circular economy/resource protection production methode
• Understandings on cooperative business models
