Working in Vietnam since the early 1980s, PATH established a permanent office in Hanoi in 1997, and an office in Ho Chi Minh City in 2014.

Description of the project the Intern will complete:

PATH is working with Vietnam Administration of Medical Service (VAMS), a department under the Ministry of Health, to implement a project named Strengthening Oxygen Utilization and Respiratory Care Ecosystems (SOURCE) with 4 main activities: (1) development of a guideline to help health facilities establish a medical oxygen system that meet medical service demand; (2)  development and deployment of a 3-module e-learning platform and e-learning program on respiratory intensive care for health workers; (3) conducting an oxygen demand study at health facilities; and (4) development and deployment of an on-line platform to monitor types and quantities of medical devices, human resources, and technical capabilities at health facilities.

PATH is currently seeking a qualified e-learning intern to support us in activity 2 of  this project: developing an e-learning program on respiratory intensive care for health workers. The intern will report to the Senior Communications Officer and work closely with PATH Vietnam program team.

Description of overall learning objectives and goals for the internship/benefit to the Intern:

  • Gain hands-on experience and immerse yourself in a professional INGO environment.
  • Develop multitasking skills and collaborate effectively with colleagues and mentors within the SOURCE project and partner organizations.
  • Enhance your ability to align personal preferences and abilities with career choices.
  • Apply academic knowledge to practical scenarios, particularly in capacity building, e-learning program development, and project implementation & management.

Brief description of required skills/experience the intern should possess:

  • Recently graduated from a university or senior student status.
  • Experience/proficiency in using iSpring or other e-learning authoring tools to create SCORM-compliant online courses, quizzes, and interactive content is required.
  • Demonstrable experience/competency in graphic design and video editing preferred.
  • Candidates must be proficient in written and spoken Vietnamese. Strong written English preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend medical terms is a plus.
  • Able to pay close attention to details.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.

Skills to be developed and/or expanded during internship:

  • Develop e-learning programs focusing on respiratory intensive care.
  • Implement and manage project activities.
  • Utilize SCORM format and e-learning standards.
  • Enhance graphic design and video production skills.
  • Improve communication abilities in a professional setting.
  • Pay attention to detail and ensure content accuracy.
  • Multitask effectively and manage time in high-pressure environments.

Proposed activities:

  • Support gathering and reviewing content from lecturers.
  • Assist in reviewing content, such as medical procedure demonstration videos produced by contracted video producer and follow up for editing.
  • Enhance the interface (graphic design) of PowerPoint (PPT) lectures following visual concept guidelines.
  • Convert edited PPT lectures in Vietnamese into SCORM using iSpring or relevant tools: (1) Combine PPT lectures with recorded lecturer voice; (2) Create quizzes and interactions.
  • Gather feedback from the project team, partners, and lecturers, and make necessary revisions to e-learning lectures.
  • Support in transcribing Vietnamese narration into text and creating English SCORM lectures.
  • Assist with other tasks as required.
