1. PROJECT INFORMATION
Save the Children organization International in Vietnam (SC), along with the People’s Committee of Nam Can District (Project Management Board), is implementing the project My Forest Child (MFC), sponsored by the Save the Children Korea (SCK).
The MFC project proposes a comprehensive and integrated approach to address loss of mangrove forest due to erosion, land subsidence, unsustainable and reduced various livelihoods and challenges of climate change education which vulnerable children and community are facing. The objective of the project is to support communities in Tam Giang commune, Nam Can district, Ca Mau province to become climate resilient through locally led mangrove forest management preventing coastal erosion and enhancing climate change adaptive livelihoods. The project will focus on three approaches (i) Awareness of children, youth and community members on local climate change, environment issues and potential climate actions is increased through child-led/youth-led campaigns and school-based climate education; (ii)? Mangrove forest plantation in the target commune is strengthened and expanded to contribute to erosion prevention and climate change mitigation (iii) Ecological shrimp production and trade in the commune are strengthened to improve the livelihood for local people as a climate change adaptation approach.
The Project Management Board – Nam Can People Committee is recruiting a consultant with expertise and techniques to conduct TOT training for teachers on Nam Can distrcit, Ca Mau province. Please refer to the attached TOR for more details.
