Administrative Intern

ILRI Internship opportunity: Administrative intern in Hanoi, Vietnam (Closing date: 30 July 2024)

International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit an administrative intern. This position will be based in Hanoi, Vietnam and the intern will perform a supportive role in covering administrative needs of the office operations and project activities.

ILRIs’ mission is that people’s lives in low- and middle-income countries are improved through livestock science that contributes to equitable and resilient livestock systems in order to deliver food systems transformation with climate and environmental benefits. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR Research Centres dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world. Co-hosted by Kenya and Ethiopia, it has regional or country offices and projects in East, South and Southeast Asia as well as Central, East, Southern and West Africa. www.ilri.org.

Duties and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Finance and Administrative Associate, the intern will assist with the following tasks:

  • Support in visitors’ management to the ILRI office.
  • Assist in documentation and filing system of the office.
  • Translate documents/ reports and correspondence (English and Vietnamese) if required.
  • Coordinate repairs to office equipment.
  • Manage office supplies.
  • Support the procurement processes
  • Provide logistical support in organizing workshops, training, events and field visits.
  • Assist office staff and visitors in booking travel arrangements including flight tickets, hotel accommodation, car rental, visa application, etc.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Internship requirements

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be a Vietnamese citizen who is in the last two years of their undergraduate study, upon commencement of the internship.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree course with specialization in either business administration, economics, management, accountancy or related fields.
  • Have fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Be responsive, flexible, client-oriented and attention-to-detail.
  • Display organizational and communication, interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit interest in sustainable development and in working with international organizations or NGOs.

Location: ILRI Hanoi, Vietnam.

Language required: English and Vietnamese.

Duration: 6 months.

Terms of appointment: The internship at ILRI will offer:

  • A monthly stipend to cover accommodation, transport and day to day living expenses.
  • Medical insurance for the internship duration.
