CAR CARE TRAINER
SEEDS OF HOPE-AUTOMOTIVE AND ELECTRICITY TRAINING PROGRAM

CONTEXT

IECD (European institute of cooperation and development) is an international non profitable organization recognized as of public utility. IECD is operating in Vietnam for 10 years and its activities are focused on vocational training program and entrepreneurship training for the most vulnerable.

The Seeds of Hope training program is a 9-month training program in automotive including 3 months training at school and 6 months in internship. Our objective is to support the most vulnerable students so they gain confidence and to integrate a formal job with decent conditions.

2 specialization will be trained to the students : car care and body and painting. During the 3 month training, they will have 60% technical training in one of the specialization and 40% training in English, communication skills, and automotive industry awareness. Each class will be composed by 12 students.

Currently the project is searching for a car care trainer who can support the project team and the partner schools to carry out main tasks as below.

1.     Implement Car Care curricula:

  • Contribute to elaborate and organize training plans and curriculum, student's evaluation & attendance.
  • For each topic of the curriculum, prepare a detailed lesson plan. Lesson plan must include introduction, activities through guided practice & independent practice and assessment.
  • Conduct sessions through a lively and participative approach
  • Guide and coach students to work on the desired deliverables
  • Work together with the teachers of soft skills through regular meetings to ensure program coherence.
  • Conduct the training for partner schools’ trainers on the developed curriculum for short-course training with focus on Automotive Curriculum.
  • Conduct an assessment on potential employer needs and develop both long-term and short-term training plans to address those needs.
  • Ensure all training is delivered according to plan and to a good standard.
  • Develop post-training follow-up plans, plus monitoring and evaluation tools, to document how teachers apply the new technical knowledge in their daily practice.
  • Deliver technical training for other SoH team members as required
  • Deliver timely reports and indicators records for the technical training

2.       Program coordination:

  • Assist the Project Manager in the planning and organizing of Training program;
  • Support in identifying potential industry experts/partners to cooperate with the project as potential employers or consultants.
  • Participate in G&E activities for example company visits, site visits and in charge of managing students’ participation in such.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CANDIDATE

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years working experience in car care field of which at least 2 - year experience in teaching/training. Working experience in branded garages, automotive brands is preferable and good understanding of learning by doing approach is a plus.

Competencies:

  • Ability to coordinate and work with people from different backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and pedagogical skill
  • Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good understanding and have wide network in the automotive industry is a plus

Language:

Fluency in Vietnamese and reading/ writing in English

Contract type: Full-time/ Part-time contract or service contract,

Starting: September 1st, 2024,

Working time: Based on school calendar (approx 20H per week)

Place: School site (D12)
