ABOUT THE VIETNAM FOUNDATION
The Vietnam Foundation (VNF) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 2008 in the United States with the mission of improving the lives of the Vietnamese people through education. In 2020, VNF entered into a strategic and exclusive partnership with Khan Academy, the U.S.-based non-profit organization and leading online learning platform developer, to launch the Khan Academy Vietnam (KAV) program. KAV's mission is to enhance the self-learning capacity of all K-12 students in Vietnam by supporting nearly 30,000 schools across the country to access the Khan Academy platform, helping teachers and students utilize the Vietnamese-localized and international standard programs, and supporting schools in effectively using Khan Academy’s Learning Content Management System (LCMS) to personalize student learning.
We are seeking candidates for the position of Schools & Partners Development Executive to effectively support teachers and schools, contributing to KAV’s mission of enhancing the self-learning capacity of all K-12 students in Vietnam.
VISION FOR THE POSITION
The KAV program is continually expanding to new provinces/cities to assist schools in digital transformation in education and to promote the development of students' self-learning skills. We are therefore looking for candidates with leadership skills and a passion for education, especially non-profit education, to bring equal learning opportunities to Vietnamese students. This position will play a key role in supporting local educational institutions to understand and utilize the Khan Academy platform, implementing pilot and full-scale projects according to local needs. The candidate will have experience in planning, mobilizing resources for implementation, measuring outcomes, as well as training teachers and building learning communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support building partnerships with Departments/Divisions of Education in Vietnam and introduce the Khan Academy platform to local educational institutions;
- Organize or assist in organizing online or offline training/professional exchange sessions based on local needs. The training content includes instructions on how to use the Khan Academy platform and operate the KAV Open School model effectively;
- Support and collaborate with partner organizations to effectively implement the KAV Open School model at schools, including assisting school leaders and teachers in managing accounts, reading reports, and equipping schools with tools to guide students and parents;
- Monitor monthly and weekly data from partner organizations and affiliated schools to review program progress against set goals, and provide short-term and long-term recommendations to promote the use of Khan Academy in the area;
- Update partner organizations with new platform developments and help them adjust or upgrade management processes;
- Explore new ideas, and develop initiatives suited to local contexts to motivate teachers and students;
- Support the development of teacher communities both locally and nationwide, where teachers can learn from each other and share best practices in using Khan Academy to support students' self-learning;
- Participate in quantitative and qualitative data analysis when surveying schools and partner organizations;
- Join working sessions and discussions organized by Khan Academy to update and learn from their experience in managing partnerships and schools.
REQUIREMENTS
- Motivated to contribute to Khan Academy's global mission of “providing a free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere”;
- 1-2 years of experience in project management, partnership management in the education sector;
- Good understanding of teachers, school leaders, District and Department of Education;
- Clear passion for education (experience working as a teacher/lecturer is a plus);
- Experience working in an international education environment;
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a strong attention to details;
- Outstanding communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively in both direct interactions, email, text, and presentations;
- Quantitative data analysis skills; experience in collecting qualitative data from the field to draw conclusions, solve problems, or make plan adjustments;
- Ability to learn quickly and grasp new topics related to the education sector.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in Vietnamese;
- Proficient in English (no certification required, but candidates with a minimum English level equivalent to IELTS 6.5, TOEIC 850, or TOEFL iBT 80 are preferred).
