Call for Expression of Interest (EOI):
GHG emission assessment for factories and farms to promote Phuc Sinh’s supply chain management
in the project areas, Central Highlands of Vietnam
Background
Phuc Sinh Corporation (https://phucsinh.com) ranks among Vietnam’s top 10 exporters in both markets. Renowned for their leadership in Rainforest Alliance (RA) standard farming in Vietnam in the industry. For over two decades, Phuc Sinh has successfully built responsible supply chain by sustainable cultivating, distributing which safe to consumers, related communities, forests and natural resources.
The Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (www.thedfcd.com) provides finance and Technical Assistance (TA) to enable, mobilize and scale private sector funding for climate-smart development in two stages, origination, and investment.
Phuc Sinh and DFCD agreed to implement an origination project to support the development of “Scaling climate-smart coffee practices among vulnerable communities in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, by Phuc Sinh”.
Objectives of the assignment
- The overall intention of this project is to support Phuc Sinh on GHG emission assessment and management plan for factories and farms to promote its supply chain management and risk management for IFC-PS, Rainforest Alliance (RA) compliance in the project areas, Central Highlands of Vietnam. In addition, the GHG assessment will provide result-bases for Phuc Sinh’s carbon footprint for global branding.
Activities/Tasks
The following activities are performed under the guidance and supervision of Phuc Sinh Group’s Sustainability Team and SNV’s specialist and the selected external TA.
- GHG emission calculation from improving practices of certified farms of RA’s compliance vs. conventional farms by using proper methodology to related farms’ inputs, energy usage, irrigation, IBM, etc.
- GHG emission assessment for PS's facilities (factories) according to current policies in VN, ISO 14064, and reference to international standards.
- Develop a GHG management plan for PS that includes a GHG inventory management plan and formalise data collection methods, procedures, processes, and reporting.
- Presenting/Training for IMS and related stakeholders for adopting and updating GHG emissions calculation/inventory management plan
Deliverables
- Comprehensive GHG report for both farms and factories of Phuc Sinh
- GHG management plan for PS that includes GHG inventory management plan
- Verification of findings and results with a proper third party and related local stakeholders
- PPT version for training IMS and PS’s team, certification of 25 officers on ISO 14064 awareness.

Submission Requirements | Interested consultancy companies should submit the EOIs with following information/ documents via https://smrtr.io/n686x: - Letter of Interest
- The applicant’s professional qualifications which requires:
- A consultancy company has experience about GHG emission in both agriculture and industry accordance with ISO 14064, used to consult clients in agriculture and industry sector, showcasing relevant expertise.
- Technical team/Experts in charge have certificates, hold at least master of food degree, skills and experiences at least 3 years about GHG emission in both agriculture and industry accordance with ISO 14064. Trainers have at least 3 years experiences training in food and non-food sector (ISO 14064, ISO 14067, ISO 14068, …)
- Have facilities/key personnel available in Viet Nam or able to travel associated with the project timeline.
- Have an efficient management system (includes risk manage, flexible and adaptable mechanism, …) which is convinced by past relevant performance.
- Have ability to connect with stakeholders in terms of the project (Communities, Local authorities, …)
- Have a reliable information security mechanism.
- Deliverables and communication are available in both Vietnamese and English.

Selection Process
SNV will review all Expressions of Interest received in accordance with the guidelines and criteria in this solicitation. SNV reserves the right to exclude any EOIs that do not meet the guidelines. Please note that SNV is unable to provide detailed feedback to those EOIs that are not selected.
- Step 1: SNV will shortlist selected EOIs, and unsuccessful respondents will be notified. Successful applicants will be contacted by SNV.
- Step 2: SNV will release Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the specific activities and contract with the selected organizations/ consultants.
Protection of Information
We request that Expressions of Interest responses be free of any intellectual property that the applicant wishes to protect. Should offerors wish to include proprietary intellectual property that they believe would be helpful for SNV, please note the proprietary nature of such information. Costing information will be kept confidential and will not be shared beyond SNV.
Issuance of this EOI does not constitute a commitment, award, or engagement on the part of SNV nor does it commit SNV to any future commitment or engagement.
