1. Detailed Description of Tasks to be Performed:
The Vietnam Fleming Fund Country Grant—Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance in Vietnam (FFCGVN) addresses critical gaps in the surveillance of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria in Vietnam. This grant will support implementation of national plans for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), antimicrobial use and consumption (AMU/C) surveillance in the Animal Health (AH), Environment Health (EH) and Human Health (HH) sectors with One Health approach. We will work closely with local entities that are already involved in AMR/AMU surveillance, oversight and improvement activities, local and national Technical Working Groups, national and regional reference laboratories for animal health, other government and national and international non-government stakeholders, and Mott MacDonald - the Fleming Fund Management Agent.
FFCGVN is seeking for a qualified and experienced Vietnamese consultant to work with an AMR focal point of DAH and FHI 360 for developing a protocol of active AMR surveillance in Tra fish (pangasius) in Dong Thap province protocol, providing technical expertise on sample collection, and analyze data and write a report on the pilot AMR surveillance results.
The Consultant is requested to have understanding and experiences in AMR or relevant topics in aquaculture sector and the National Action Plans (NAP) on preventing AMR in agriculture sector for the period 2021-2025. The Consultant will be working closely with focal points of DAH, FHI 360, Regional Animal Health Office No. VII (RAHO7) and Sub-Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary and Fishery (SDAHVF) in Dong Thap province during implementing this work. The Consultant will be supported by relevant technical expertise at AMROH (an oversea technical consultant of Fleming Fund supporting for Vietnam) via emails or virtual meetings if needed.
